Armel's real estate development history began in Guelph over 60 years ago. Since that time, Armel has developed residential land and thousands of homes throughout Guelph. Armel built Guelph communities for families to call home. Today, Armel owns numerous residential sites with thousands of units in various stages of development in the growing west end of Guelph. These sites will be developed into communities with a variety of housing types, with a current focus on multi-family residential. West Guelph is home to the West End Community Centre and West Hills Shopping Centre, several parks and schools making it an attractive place to live.
Armel entered the Barrie residential market in the mid-1980s, rezoning and developing what is now known as Barrie's south end. This area has seen some of the fastest growth in expanded housing in Ontario in the last twenty-four months. Armel continues to plan and develop land in the area, including a 65-acre community known as Yonge GO Village, located beside Barrie South GO Transit Station. Yonge GO Village will be a complete community with a mix of retail, parks, low rise homes and mid-rise multi-family residences. In the past two years at Yonge GO Village, Armel has developed an initial 400 homes with more than 1,000 multi-family units and 35,000 square feet of retail to come.
Armel has active sites in the city of Toronto. Armel is looking to grow its presence in Toronto.
The community of Coloniale Estates in the city of Beaumont has been developed by Armel with hundreds of homes located there today. The vibrant City of Beaumont is less than 10 minutes from South Edmonton. Coloniale Estates is a beautiful residential community comprised of quiet streets that weave around and through the 18-hole championship Coloniale Golf Course. Coloniale Park, with its playground and large soccer field, is located just to the north of the entrance to the community. Armel has planned the next phase of development for Coloniale Estates, launching in 2023.
